The Story Behind The Piece
This single slab of Water Oak was sourced from Spring, TX (from a tree that I have already had the pleasure of working with on another build) and designed into a conference table for Texas Glocal Partners office at The Offices at Dry Creek, a office condominium located in Magnolia, TX. The client elected for the epoxy to be poured into all voids, checks and cracks to be colored with a black mica powder pigment to give a marbling effect. Although the live edge was kept on both sides a 1/4 inch round-over was routed into the top edge for comfort during long meetings. Rubio Monocoat was used as a finish and topped off with Black Forest Wood Co. ceramic coating for extra protection. The table base was fabricated by Flowyline Design and power strips mounted to the bottom of the table with wiring run inside the table base. The cookies that were flush mounted on the lobby wall were also from the same tree as the table.
